Healing Guide
Aftercare
Proper aftercare is the key to a beautiful, healthy piercing.
Your piercing is an investment — in your body, your style, and your confidence. Following these aftercare guidelines will help ensure the best possible healing outcome. When in doubt, reach out to us directly.
General Aftercare
- Clean your piercing twice daily with a sterile saline wound wash (0.9% sodium chloride, no additives).
- Spray or apply saline solution directly to the piercing and surrounding area. Gently pat dry with clean, disposable paper towels.
- Do not rotate, twist, or move your jewelry during healing — this disrupts the healing tissue.
- Avoid touching your piercing with unwashed hands.
- Avoid submerging in pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans during the healing period.
- Avoid applying ointments, creams, alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide to your piercing.
Healing Times
- Earlobe: 6–9 months
- Cartilage (helix, tragus, daith, etc.): 9–18 months
- Nostril: 4–6 months
- Septum: 6–8 months
- Navel: 9–12 months
- Nipple: 9–12 months
- Surface / Dermal: 6–12 months (varies)
Signs of Normal Healing
- Some redness, swelling, and tenderness in the first few days — this is normal.
- Clear or white-ish discharge (lymph fluid) that crusts around the jewelry — this is normal. Gently remove with saline.
- Itching during the healing process — this is normal and a sign of healing.
When to Seek Help
- Increasing pain, swelling, or redness after the first few days.
- Green or yellow discharge with a foul odor.
- Fever or red streaking from the piercing site.
- If you suspect infection, contact us or consult a healthcare professional immediately.
